On Wednesday, November 25, 2025, Zanner Institute vibrated with the rhythm of civic engagement and social innovation. This was part of the weekly school exchange and training sessions organized by Chora Congo.
A total of 21 students – including 6 boys and 15 girls – took part in this activity centered on the theme: social entrepreneurship.
An Exceptional Speaker
The session was led by Mireille Ikuzwe, an alumna of the prestigious YALI Dakar program, recognized for her commitment to sustainable development and youth empowerment.
With passion and pedagogy, she captured the students' attention, inviting them to reflect deeply on their role in society and concrete ways to become actors of change.
Understanding Social Impact
Throughout the discussions, students discovered that social entrepreneurship is not limited to creating a profitable business, but consists primarily of responding to a real social need.
Through concrete examples and participatory exercises, they learned to:
- Distinguish a social enterprise from a purely profit-driven one.
- Identify local social problems and analyze their root causes.
- Study the social, economic, and environmental consequences of these problems.
- Formulate impact projects that provide sustainable and inclusive solutions.
Active and Transformative Pedagogy
The session was not just a lecture. Students were invited to think, debate, propose, and above all imagine concrete solutions for their community. This participatory approach revealed talents, stimulated creativity, and strengthened the self-confidence of the young participants.
This learning moment was more than just training: it was a true invitation to dream big and act locally. Upon leaving the room, each student carried with them a seed of an idea, ready to sprout in their neighborhoods, schools, and families.
Thanks to Chora Congo and the commitment of trainers like Mireille Ikuzwe, a new generation of conscious, responsible, and enterprising youth is emerging in Goma.
